If your church would like to
donate to the Haiti or Chile Earthquake Relief Funds, simply send the
funds to the Conference office with your normal remittance form. Please
put the amount under OCWM and designate either Haiti Relief Fund
or Chile Relief Fund.
The Indiana-Kentucky Conference is moving away from
the old, paper Mid-Month Mailing (MMM) and replacing it with an
electronic newsletter, or e-newsletter. This new form of
communication has many benefits to boast.
With an e-newsletter you
will receive nearly instant delivery and more frequent
communication. This change will save the Conference over $4,000 per year on paper and postage
alone.
In order to follow the
vision plan and move towards a focus on electronic communication, we
need to have an e-mail contact for everyone who receives the MMM. We
do not want to leave anyone out when we make this exciting
transition.
If you wish to continue
receiving the MMM in its new format, please contact Nikki Richards
n.richards@ikcucc.org at
the IKC office with your e-mail address. Your time and effort is
greatly appreciated and will help improve communications with the
Conference office.
Praying For Those Affected
By The Gulf Coast Oil Spill
A message from
Florence Coppola, an
executive with National Disaster Ministries, a part of UCC Wider
Church Ministries:
The Florida Conference has asked their churches to participate in a
conference-wide worship service either on the beach or in their own
buildings on Aug. 22, 2010 to recognize and to pray for people
impacted by the Gulf Coast oil spill.
All
UCC churches across the country are invited to consider having a
worship service or other type of event on August 22 (or on a date
that would be appropriate to their church life) for people whose
lives have been put on hold indefinitely due to the spill.

A new
Stillspeaking commercial was launched on Fri., April 16. Called “The
Language of God,” it invites people to think more deeply and broadly
about the phrase “God is still speaking.”
Please take the
time to view the video and reflect on where and how God is still
speaking and share with those close to you through email, Facebook
or Twitter.
